The Cut Out Collection is a line entirely created from images formed by cutouts, exploring the beauty of essential shapes. Starting with simple elements such as the silhouette of a leaf, a bird, or a horse, the collection evolves into organic complexity that, in a free and almost theatrical way, covers and transforms the fabric. This effect is achieved thanks to a manual and primitive approach to screen printing, where the cutouts are adhered to small screens that move and print multiple times. In doing so, it highlights one of the most powerful aspects of this printing technique: the ability to multiply an image quickly and the creation of flat ink stains that define the design.
Each garment in this collection begins with a common foundational concept, but the pattern varies with each print, creating a unique composition for each piece and making every t-shirt a one-of-a-kind item.
Inspired by the inherent language of the technique—one that, with such simple resources as paper and scissors, demands visual synthesis—and by the play between positive and negative that emerges from cutting out an image, this collection pays homage to two essential figures in the art of cut paper. On one hand, Samiro Yunoki, with his exquisite textile patterns and his ability to evoke simple yet endlessly fresh beauty. On the other hand, Hans Christian Andersen, who transformed paper cutouts into a means to tell fantastic stories filled with masks, dancers, and swans.
